Sugar alcohol with an unresolved cardiovascular signal in recent observational work.
Erythritol is well tolerated digestively compared with other polyols. A 2023 study linked high circulating erythritol with cardiovascular events, but circulating levels are also produced endogenously, so causation is genuinely unsettled. We hold it just under neutral until that resolves.
