High-fructose corn syrup

Score

Concentrated added sugar. WHO recommends free sugars stay under 10% of energy, ideally under 5%.

Nutritionally HFCS is close to table sugar, and the case against it is really the case against cheap liquid sugar at volume. What makes it worse in practice is where it turns up: it is so inexpensive that it ends up in bread, sauces and dressings where nobody is expecting sugar at all.
